Every home and family is unique, with different needs and expectations. A good breeder knows their dogs best, they don't leave anything to chance. Sweetwater families know exactly what they are bringing home. All of our puppies are raised inside the home and highly socialized. Our application and family screenings are extensive, and ensures we know what you are individually looking for in a family companion or working dog.
We begin by evaluating each puppy daily, assessing for temperament, drive, energy level, and personality; both in and outside of the litter, one-on-one. We document interactions with our children, as well as with the parent and adult dogs, in order to thoughtfully match each puppy with the right family according to their gender preference. Additionally, we provide on-going support to every family, well into the future!

We are active members in the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. program, and maintain all AKC requirements for responsible breeders. All of our parent dogs are fully tested and cleared through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, and hold active OFA CHIC health certifications. We test for hip & elbow dysplasia, full cardiac and thyroid screenings, and eye certifications, in order to ensure only healthy puppies are produced.
Our local Veterinarian is affiliated with the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and is available to provide a reference upon request. All puppies are sold with accompanying State of Florida Health Certificate and microchip.
Breeding is not a hobby for us. We are Federally licensed breeders through the USDA, the State of Florida, and in our County. We strictly follow all laws and guidelines, collect and pay sales taxes, and are listed with the State of Florida SUNBIZ.org as a licensed and legitimate LLC. It is important that families can trust they are working with a professional and experienced breeder, and not a hobbyist.
Did you know that many breeders are not licensed or required to be? In fact, many that focus their programs solely on Confirmation are exempted by their states for licensure or even kennel inspections.

All of our dogs are returnable at any time, and are required to be returned to us if a family situation changes where they are unable to care for the dog. We support our local trainers, groomers, our community partners, as well as our local shelters and rescues.
We have many dogs working in a professional capacity, from Law Enforcement, Fire Search & Rescue, to Therapy and Medical Service Work. From an official "Airport Ambassador" whose job is to provide comfort to passengers flying for the first time, or accompany nervous children and passengers while waiting in Airport terminals, to our dogs employed by teaching hospitals trained to scent out pre-cancer cells in patents in order to minimize the need for unnecessary and painful biopsies; Sweetwater Kennels Giants have proven themselves in the professional field.
Though we respect working titles and lines, we feel that titles and awards do not necessarily translate to a dog can actually do the job. At Sweetwater Kennels, we don't "talk" about what jobs our Giants "Could potentially do", because our Giants are actively working the jobs; not just "collecting titles".
